AF Top 25 For Week 11
TOP 25 – For the 5th week in a row, the AF Top 25 is topped by the Fantasy Addicts‘ league leader and 2016 Pro Bowler On The Rox, coached by AF Registered Coach, Rox. Not only number 1, but On The Rox continues to steadily build on their lead, this week increasing their VsL win percentage by 2 more hundredths of a point to an .850 average. That’s the second highest VsL percentage any Association team has ever had, and far and away the highest percentage any team has had this late in the season; (in 2015, League 28 team DashnSMASH debuted on the first ever Top 25 in Week 3 with a .900 win percentage, but that dropped all the way down to .790 the following week.)
The AF Fantasy Circus‘s Mighty Pats remain in second place this week, also, but their numbers are moving in the opposite direction, dropping a hundredth of a point to .720 and allowing On The Rox to spread the margin even further. Rounding out the top five is a 3-way tie – each with a VsL% of .700 – between the Gig City KnightHawks, whose season has already ended in the Fantasy Circus; the Cardiff Crusaders, the only IFFL team on this week’s list; and The Dixie League‘s Sanford Celeryfeds who are headed into game one of the Dixie‘s Eastern League Championship Series.
The Top 25 is tabulated throughout the year, ranking the top teams of the 86 (current) that play in Associated Fantasy leagues. The rankings are based on VsL% (Vs League %) and are calculated by dividing for win percentage, a team’s W-L-T record if that team had played every other team in its league each week. The VsL% compares teams against the competition within their own league, but then translates that performance to rank the teams against all other Associated Fantasy teams, so that the Top 25 is a measure of how well a team is doing against their league rivals in comparison to how well other teams are doing against their own league rivals (it’s also biased toward total points as opposed to just wins and losses so it’s a better bench-mark of performance than league record). New rankings come out weekly, and the full current and archived lists can be viewed at the “Top 25” tab.
With just a few exceptions, there was very little movement on the Top 25 this week – Super 16‘s 1 Eye Til I Die climbing 10 spots to #14, and Legion of Defence‘s Sacks Fifth Avenue falling 9 places to #21 were two of those exceptions – with most teams moving up or down by just 1 or 2 spots as the further into the season, the less movement to a team’s VsL numbers. There are again four match-ups in the Association this week between Top 25 teams, and they look to be some exciting ones:
