WRATH OF ODIN is New Number 1

TOP 25 – The Super 16’s WRATH OF ODIN has jumped from AF#3 to the top spot, coming in at AF#1 on the Week 6 AF Top 25.  Partly on the strength of their Week 5 victory over division rival, The Dawg Pound, with their league’s highest score of the week, Odin improved their Power Rating (PR) from 95 in Week 5 to a 47 this week to leapfrog into first as the best team in the Association.  The S16 Champion in 2014, playing as BEARMINATORS, the franchise relocated to the Vikings over the offseason and have taken the league by storm this yeasr.  Currently, Odin sits at 5-0-0, including a pair of wins over their 2017 division champs, the Dawgs, and are first in the league in total scoring.  Luck being a talent, they also happen to be last in the league in the category of points scored against them, and , looking ahead, appear to have a relatively soft schedule down the stretch.  Could this be a miracle season in the making?

WRATH OF ODIN start the season 5-0-0; that’s only been done 3 times in Super 16 league history.

The IFFL’s Hawaiian Beach Bums, last week’s number 1, slipped just one spot, placing at AF#2 for Week 6.  Still undefeated, their fans chanting “Hawaii-5-0!” last weekend as the Beach Bums steamrolled league powerhouse and past champion Venice, Hawaii remains the IFFL scoring leader, though their PR slipped just a little from 52 to 69 over the week.   Jumping a spot to move into the Top 3, Fantasy Addicts’ monkeys on ecstasy are the Week 6 AF#3 team.  The Fantasy Addicts league is running ladder scheduling all season long this year, in which the schedule is reset each week so that #1 plays #2, #3 plays #4, etc, weekly, and this two-time league champion and prolific league record holder has been in first place for 5 straight weeks, enduring a steady onslaught of the league’s current #2 team each week, including last week’s AF#5 Suspension Freaks.

There are lots of big match-ups this week in the Association, including the AF#3 monkeys on ecstasy taking on the AF#17 Mighty Pats in the Fantasy Addicts league and the AF#4 Kokomo Kings vs the AF#20 Mighty Pats in the all new Leatherheads Fantasy Conference.  The AF#5 Suspension Freaks vs the AF#13 Roxteady is the biggest match of the year so far in the Legion of Defense, and in the Dixie League, its going to be an epic weekend for the expansion AF#12 Jacksonville Tarpons who must face the AF#9 San Angelo Wolverines and the AF#11 Kokomo Kings in double header action

Our Stats Department pours through the data from the games each week to compile the Top 25 from among all 80 of the Association’s League teams.  The rankings are based on 5 distinct categories (Record, Overall Wins, Consistency, Point Percentage, Coaching Efficiency), with each category being weighted and then combined to give an overall Power Rank (PR) score. PR scores can range from 15 (a perfect score) to 1200 (last in every category)(For a full description of each category and how it is weighted, please visit the new Stats FAQ page, found either at that link or as a sub-tab under the AF Stats menu tab.)  The rankings are cumulative through to Week 17 measuring teams’ performances through the entire season, and a new list is published each week under the all-new AF Stats menu tab and you can view the full rankings of all 80 teams playing in Association Leagues under the AF Rankings sub-tab, complete with their stats in all ranking categories.  For a quick look, the Top 25 gets its own sub-tab there, as well as being highlighted here each week.  Click on the image below for expanded list.
