Bruised Black and Brown

SUPER 16 – A couple of league brutes, off to a rough start in 2018 will try to turn their seasons around as they revisit their bad blood in the Super 16 Game of the Week.  The last time The Dawg Pound (2-3-0) faced Steel Curtain (2-3-0) was in the 2016 Wild Card Game where the Pittsburg franchise was defeated, 208-182, ending their inaugural season.  This time around, both teams are struggling at under .500 after the first 5 games of the season, the Dawgs in particular, in the midst of a 2 game slide.  Both teams were preseason favorites to make a run at their respective division titles, while now, each of them are just hoping to string together some wins to catch up to the division leaders, and in Week 6, they stand in each other’s way.  Steel Curtain has never won in Week 6 since entering the league in 2016, while The Dawg Pound is 3-3 going back to their inaugural season of 2012, and they’re favored in this match-up by a touchdown.

Other big games of Week 6 include Birds of Prey (3-2-0) vs AF#25 Northern Fins (3-2-0), two more league powerhouse teams, both past champions, that have each lost two in a row, tumbling in the standings after starting the first three weeks undefeated.  The undefeated, AF#1 WRATH OF ODIN (5-0-0) will put their record on the line in a SimulPlay game against a struggling Arizona Firebird (2-3-0) squad that can’t seem to recapture the momentum of last year’s championship run, while across the West Division, the league #3 and AF#18 1 Eye Til I Die (4-1-0) faces cross-bay rival SF’s BowMen(1-4-0).   The #2 scoring team in the league, AF#23 Geno’s Jaw Breakers (2-3-0) feature in the week’s other SimulPlay game, facing The Indy-Structibles (1-4-0), while this season’s first BYE Week game happens this weekend as the league #2 and AF#8 Who Dat Saints (4-1-0) play the Motor City Kitties (3-2-0), both teams at half strength and the Kitties favored by a touchdown.
