The Fighting Four

S16 logo 2015Super 16 – Approaching the finale of its 5th season, the Super 16 is down to a final group of four teams.  Three of the four have been ranked number 1 at some point this season and the fourth just posted the highest playoff score in league history.

The Who Dat Saints (9-4-0), under new ownership from the 2015 Karma and a Kicker Saints, keep the tradition alive by keeping the #1 seed in the South Division, and for the first time ever, that team isn’t Birds of Prey.  The Saints averaged 194 points per game this season.

They will face the #5 seed Eagle has landed (8-5-0(1-0)), coached by AF Registered Coach Bob and absolutely destroyed the West Division Champ Los Angeles Super Chargers (8-5-0(0-1)) in the Wild Card Game, 242-133  for what was the highest scoring playoff victory in league history and inside the top 20 all-time scores.  The Eagle has has posted an impressive 206 points per game over the last 8 weeks.

The other Wild Card Game was an Ohio Valley bruiser as North Division Champ The Dawg Pound (8-5-0(1-0)) came out on top of the expansion Steel Curtain (7-6-0(0-1))) after The Immaculate Stat Correction installed them as the #6 seed over the displaced 1 Eye Til I Die.  The Brown Dogs were ranked league #1 through most of the season, and, coached by AF Registered Coach meigzoh, are the number 2 scoring team in the league.

The Cleveland squad will square off with the #2 seed East Division Champion Northern Fins (9-4-0), who have won 7 of their last 8 games and averaged 205 points per game over the last 5.   They have split a pair of head-to-heads with the Dawgs this season, and, despite being the #2 seed, are currently installed as a 28 point underdogs.

The winners of these two matches will meet in Super Bowl V on Christmas Day.
