Legion Wild Card Game
The 2019 Legion of Defense playoffs have arrived after a brutal season of cross and intra-division battle, and this one has come down to a true game of inches. The Double Doinks (6-6-0) qualified for the #4 seed Points Wild Card with 804.50 total season points – second overall in the league, and first among all teams after the first three seeds have been filled. Their oponent, the #5 seed is the Sacks Wild Card slot, given to the team with the most total season sacks after the first four seeds have been filled. This year that spot has been won by More People Than You Can Block (7-5-0) with 30.0 IDP sacks after a full season stats audit, beating out BIGDOGINTEX (6-6-0) who finish with 29.5 IDP sacks on the season. A game of inches. M.P.T.Y.B. tied records with defending champ Suspension Freaks (7-5-0) who is this year’s Standings Runner-Up (seed #3) but lost out on that slot by tiebreakers.
The Doinks and Peoples are both Legion rookie teams, and have faced each other just once all season, a week 6 rumble that More People won 76-56. This rematch should be thrilling, currently with just a half point margin in the spread. The winner of the Wild Card Game will join seeds #1 AF#10 Sleeper Agent (8-4-0), #2 AF#18 Insane Clowney Posse (7-5-0), and #3 AF#31 Suspension Freaks (7-5-0) in the Championship Tournament beginning in week 14, where the top 2 finishers will play in week 17’s Legion Bowl for the Championship. The loser will be placed as seed #1 in the Consolation Bracket where the winner will play in the Week 17 Premiere Bowl for the 2020 #1 draft pick.
