Hogging The Limelight

The Wild Boars of Milan keep writing themselves into the World League’s weekly Premier Match, now being featured for the third consecutive week. After two seasons of subpar play, the Boars are on a rampage so far in their third season, undefeated after dispatching the defending World Champion Patriots in week 2 and then the defending Western Conference Champs in week 3. Next up are the Mexico Aztecs, also undefeated and now the Western Conference leaders after City of Champions fell to Milan in last week’s Premier Match.

Milan is the overwhelming favorite in this one, according to the oddsmakers, but the Aztecs have never lost to the Italians, beating them by an average of 30 points in both previous head-to-heads. While both teams would like to walk away from this one with a win, the Wild Boars may need it more as they try to keep pace with the first place London Falling who’s 3-0 as well, and has a 5 point advantage over Milan. London draws the winless Buenos Aires Blue Dogs this week.

After finishing 2018 with a 5-8 record, in 10th place, milan is now 4-0 and has beaten 3 of the top teams in the World League – convincingly.  They head into what should be a relatively soft 7 game stretch before a show down with the 4-0 London Falling in Week 12.  Could they both still be undefeated that late in the season?
