WFL: Premier World Match of Week 2

WORLD LEAGUE – With early season control of the Eastern Conference in the balance, the Old England Patriots (1-0) take on the Dublin Bay Prawns (1-0) in the World League’s Premier World Match of Week 2.   Both teams are coming off of opening weekend victories, Dublin having beaten Jerusalem and the Patriots with the high score of the week in their 116 point performance to defeat Milan.  This is the first time the two have met since last year’s conference semifinals where the Prawns destroyed England 142-81, a win that ranks at #15 in the League’s Record Book for single game scoring records.  Both teams being charter members of the WFL, this will be the 10th time these British Isle rivals have faced each other, and Dublin Bay has carved out a slight advantage in the series, beating the Patriots 5 games to 4.  Already underway, Dublin has the early lead, 8-4 after the eThursday game, but things are sure to heat up on Sunday, with no starters scheduled to play in the Sunday or Monday night games, we’ll know the outcome of this match early, with the betting centers all showing some very close odds, with the Patriots listed as just 3 point underdogs.

The winner in this one will advance to 2-0, and lead of the Eastern Conference will still need to be determined by the outcome of the Scandinavia-Jerusalem game, with the Stars sitting at 1-0 also.
