SUPER 16 – In a week that saw the emotional departure of the franchise’s namesake, the AF#3 SF’s BowMen rallied to a monster win in the Super 16‘s  Week 6 Game of the Week.  Taking on the AF#20 Birds of Prey, who were ranked #3 in the league to BowMen’s #1, the San Francisco Archers went falcon hunting, to shoot down BoP 216-197.  Roger Tripp’s Birds of Prey took a seemingly decisive lead early, but the juggernaut BowMen exploded late in the day to break 200 points for the 5th consecutive week.  After fending off a last ditch comeback attempt from the Birds on Monday night, SF’s Bowmen will advance to a 5-1-0 record, remaining firmly entrenched as the number 1 team in the league.

The BowMen have now faced league top 3 opponents (all of them Top 25 teams), in three consecutive weeks and will have to do it again in Week 7 when they play a rematch with their Bay Rivals, AF#6 1 Eye Til I Die, who also won in Week 6.  Coach Mac’s Raider franchise stole an upset victory from the winless BEARMINATORS after trailing most of the day to remain 2nd overall thanks to the 148-99 win.  Losing their franchise quarterback for the season, early in the game, 1 Eye managed to avoid disaster, and advance to 5-1-0 but will need their hometeam signal caller to be the next man up in next week’s West Division showdown.  The Arizona Firebirds took care of Eagle has landed, 201-142 and Dem Bucking Broncos made a Sunday night comeback to beat the Jawbreakers, 174-157 to both stay division relevant at 4-2-0 and 3-3-0, respectively.

The Birds of Prey’s loss, opened the door in the South Division for the Who Dat Saints after their SimulPlay 220-178 win over Motor City Kitties.  The Who Dats have now won 4 in a row and are tied with rival BoP at 4-2-0 in the standings, and just 26 points back.  The two of them will face off for the first time next week for control of the South.  BIGDOGINTEX and WTF HOUSTON are now two games back in the Division race and did more to affect standings in the North Division this week than in their own.

Houston delivered an unexpected upset loss to The Dawg Pound, 195-180 while the Dallas Dogs laid down and were steamrolled, 209-54 by The Indy-structibles.  Motor City and The Dawg Pound’s twin losses drop them to 3-3-0 in the standings, allowing Indy to close on them.  The Indianapolis franchise is now just 2-4-0, but within stiking distance of the division lead, and has a good chance of riding their momentum even higher next week against an Eagle team on a 5 game losing streak and 3 games out of relevancy in the East.  With the Eagle’s and Jaw Breaker losses, the Northern Fins, barely getting by Steel Curtain,191-185 in a division showdown, has regained primacy for the East Division and can cement that primacy in Week 7 with a head to head bout with the Jaw Breakers.
