LoD Logo whiteLEGION – The competition is getting fierce as teams claw their way toward the post season with only 4 games now remaining in regulation in the Legion of Defense.  The Rookie Division‘s Animal Kingdom took Defense of the Week honors for Week 7 for the second time this season in their 57-41 win over Sleeper Agent.  The Agents were statistically next in line for the award, with the Animal’s victory being the deciding factor.

Premier Division club, jlm loves defense was right there in the running as well, racking up 4 and a half sacks in their devastating 70-35 defeat of the previously League leader Sacks Fifth Avenue.  Insane Clowney Posse capitalized on the Sacks loss, and slipped by Battering Rams 44-41 to take over the Premier lead.
Mighty Pats gave Htown99 their 7th loss in a row, and now have a tenuous hold on the Pro Division.  Chinese Bandits and Gates of Delirium are still in the hunt, though, just one game back from the Pats after the Bandits beat down those Gates 46-31 last week to even their records at 3-4.
week-7-rookie-div-standingsIt’s going to be a mad scramble over the last four weeks as every tackle will count, particularly in the surprisingly impressive Rookie Division.  The Cavalry and Animal Kingdom are both 5-2, but Suspension Freaks and Sleeper Agent are 4-2, so the Division is well up for grabs.  Additionally, all four teams have scored between 302 and 323 points which means they are all equally well positioned to grab the At-Large Wild Card spot should they fail to take the Division Title.
On the other end of the battlefield, the collective scores in the Pro Division are all low enough that those teams have little hope of being playoff bound unless they can secure the division itself, and right now, only htown is mathematically excluded from that.  Premier Division teams have the advantage of being elligible for two different Wild Card slots, and we could actually see that happen this season.  With 378 points, Sacks Fifth Avenue has all but insured they’ll be at the very least, a Wild Card even if they fail to win the Premier Group.  The rest of the field all have a shot, but with just 249 points scored, the 3-4 Battering Rams would likely need to get there through a division title win.  The 2-5 jlm on the other hand, has scored 316 points, just a point behind Insane Clowney’s 317, and the two of them still have 3 pathways available to make it to the playoffs.
The PlayOff line-up would look like this if the playoffs were held today, but 11 of 12 Legion teams are still in the hunt and the standings and points totals are so close, it could come down to the very last tackle of the regular season in Week 12
