LoD Logo whiteLEGION – The Cavalry takes Defense of the Week honors for Week 2 in the Legion of Defense, registering stats in all 4 awards categories and coming in just a point and a half behind the week’s highest points total in their 61-39 defeat of Premier Division powerhouse jlm loves defense.  Led by Melvin Ingram and Aquib Talib, The Cavalry posted an IDP interception along with an IDP fumble forced, as well as 6 defensive points and 3 IDP sacks to even their record out at 1-1.  Their biggest test of the year, though, will come next week when they take on 2015 Legion runner-up Sacks Fifth Avenue who are currently ranked 1st in the Legion and have outscored their closest competitor by over 20% through the first 2 weeks of the season.

It was the second consecutive loss for jlm in what should be the cupcake portion of the schedule for them, as the Premier Division teams are matched against the Rookie Division teams in weeks 1-3.  The loss definitely puts them in the hole as the rest of the Premier teams stand at 2-0 as each of them won very close games this past week.  Insane Clowney Posse is Sacks’ closest challenger, sitting only about 20 points back in the standings.  They will face the 1-1 Suspension Freaks in Week 3 while the Premier Division 3rd place Battering Rams (2-0) get the win-less Animal Kingdom.

The Mighty Pats posted a 62.5 score in their victory over the Chinese Bandits in Pro Division play, but did not register any defensive field points as did The Cavalry, and were passed over for the Defense of the Week Award.  The Pats, however still sit with a 2-0 record atop the division standings, just a half point ahead of the Gates of Delirium who are also 2-0.  The two division leaders will face off in Week 3 before the schedule shifts to pit them against the Rookie Division teams beginning in Week 4.  The Pro Division‘s Chinese Bandits and htown99 are both stuck at 0-2 looking for their first win; one of them will get it next week when they square off against each other.
