World League Season Finale
Entering the final week of the World League’s 2018 regular season, the playoff race is as tight as it’s ever been in the league with 5 playoff spots still up for grabs. Only the AF#11 Old England Patriots (9-3-0) have secured their slot for the post season, clinching the Eastern Conference #1 seed and first round bye with their week 12 win over Jerusalem. Seven other teams will go into the week 13 season finale with playoff hopes, but with just the 5 open slots, 2 of those teams will see their seasons end this week. Because so much is in play across multiple games this week, instead of featuring a single Premier World Match, the World League is allowing its broadcast partners to televise every match in the league this week in markets all over the world.
The World League playoff format gives a first round bye and an automatic bid to the Conference Championship to the team at the top of the standings in each of its two conferences. The second place team in each conference secures the #2 seed and hosts the round 1 Wild Card Game in week 14, while their opponent, the Conference Wild Card teams earn their #3 seed by total season points.
