WFL Playoffs
WFL – The defending World Champion Jerusalem Cheeseheads stole a first round bye in the playoffs after taking down London Falling again, this time by a final score of 109.83 to 76.05. Their fourth straight win, record improved to 8-5, while London Falling fell to 7-6, vacating the Conference lead they’ve held for weeks. Jerusalem continues their dominance in the series, improving to 6-1 all-time against London. The Steelers Defense has now led Jerusalem Cheeseheads in scoring twice in the past four matches, joining Matthew Stafford, the team’s high scorer in Week 11 (with 20.38 points) and Week 12 (with 37.78 points).
As the #1 seed from the Eastern Conference, the Cheeseheads will enjoy a first round bye. London’s week 13 loss did not cost them a playoff spot, as they drop to #2 where they will face the Scandinavian Stars, the eastern Points Wild Card. The Stars are not only the points wild card, but also lead the league in season points, they have scored over a hundred points in 4 of their last 5 outings.
In the Western Conference, the Buenos Aires Blue Dogs have gone mostly unchallenged all season for the Conference lead. Finishing their season with a 104-85 victory over the Acadians, buenos Aires secures the Conference #1 seed and a first round Bye. The Los Angeles Dragons secure the #2 seed by virtue of tied records and a points tiebreaker despite their week 13 loss to Dacusville. The Western Points Wild Card is a dead heat with City of Champions holding the playoff spot for now. They have a 2.14 season points total advantage over the Devils, but Thursday stat corrections could reverse that edge. The eventual #3 will face Los Angeles.
