SUPER 16 – The Los Angeles Super Chargers remain at #1 overall in the Super 16 and in control of the West Division with their 220-124 SimulPLay GOW win over the Who Dat Saints. They sit at 4-0 with an all-important 2 game cushion in the division over 1 Eye Til I Die. The Raider franchise tried to rally Monday night but fell short in a close 232-247 loss to The Dawg Pound, evening their record at 2-2. Also evening to 2-2, the BowMen came away with a 203-145 win over Houston, but sit in third behind a head-to head loss with 1 Eye. Last season’s Division Champ, Arizona, sits in the basement at 1-3 after falling to BIGDOGINTEX 159-213. Week 5 will be important as this division all faces off with each other.
The Who Dats loss to the Super Chargers in the Game of the Week, leaves them at 2-2, with BIGDOGINTEX right there with them at the top of the South Division while Houston and the Tweeties sit at a dismal 1-3 – the defending Super Bowl Champion Birds are all the way in last and 12th overall after an unbelievable Week 4 loss. Despite having two players (Matt Ryan and Julio Jones) combine for 100 total points the Tweety Birds of Prey still came up short in an epic loss to Steel Curtain 248-259. The Birds have suffered back-to-back losses only 3 time prior, and they have never had three losses in a row. To keep that trend alive, they’ll have to regroup to face division foe BIGDOGINTEX who is coming off their 213 point victory; the Who Dats get Houston for a chance to expand their margin of wins.
Steel Curtain’s impressive win doesn’t boost them any higher than 3rd in the East Division.
The Eagle has landed secured a low-scoring slug fest of a game with division opponent
Geno’s Jaw Breakers to advance to
3-1 with a head-to-head win over the Curtain, and the
Northern ‘Fins lose their match with
Indy in a disappointing
141-206 finish to even out at
2-2. Steel Curtain plays a
SimulPlay match with the Jaw Breakers this week, The Eagle will face
Motor City in another
SimulPlay, and the ‘Fins head north to Cleveland for a rematch of their Week 3 meeting that they won in a close
253-234 outcome.
The Indy-structibles’ Week 4 win over the Miami franchise puts them in first place in the North Division with a 3-1 record and a head-to-head Week 1 victory over rival Motor City. The Kitties advance to 3-1 as well with a tight 206-196 win over the BEARMINATORS and have not lost a match since that Week 1 contest. Indy will face those same BEARs next week while Motor City gets a tough SimulPlay match vs The Eagle has landed (3-1). The Dawg Pound (2-2) will attempt to rally behind their Week 4 upset of 1 Eye as they get their rematch with the Northern ‘Fins.
Thursday night the league gets the only Thursday Night Football SimulPLay Game of the season in an important West Division match-up when the BowMen and Firebirds meet. The game will serve as a great Thursday night undercard to the Game of the Week main event when the undefeated Super Chargers face 1 Eye Til I Die at Los Angeles Coliseum.
