Birds of Prey beat the #5 seed 1 Eye Til I Die 189-162 to advance to the championship for the fourth consecutive season. The Bruschis, meanwhile, survived a Sunday night comeback attempt by the Arizona Firebirds to win 230-213.
The first Super Bowl meeting between these to teams in 2012, with the Bruschis playing as Brady’s Bunch, ended with Birds of Prey hoisting the championship after a 186-171 weekend of football, that was close the whole way. This season, the two have been first and second place through most of the year, and are separated by a yearly points total of just 6 and a half points. They met just a few weeks ago in week 12 in a match Birds of Prey won by only 21 points.Birds of Prey lead the pair’s all time series 4 games to 2, but there’s a chance, both teams could struggle in this year’s championship. After starting the season red hot, both teams have been hit with the injury bug, and the Falcons franchise has won just 2 of their last 4 games, while the Bruschis have only 3 wins in their last 7. That they both have made it to the Super Bowl after season finishes with major personel problems is an indication of the kind of true championship caliber football that Super Bowl IV should prove to be.
