LEGION OF DEFENSE – With 8 weeks done in the Legion of Defense, the Association‘s all-defensive fantasy league, updated stat records for IDP sacks recorded have been released by the league.  The race for the coveted Deacon Jones Award for most IDP sacks recorded in a season, remains largely a 3-team race.  Surprise powerhouse of the 2017 season, AF#15 Chinese Bandits, is in first place, just a single sack ahead of 2016 Champion AF#2 Suspension Freaks, with Premier Division darkhorse Sleeper Agent in 3rd.

With some weekly IDP sack totals as high as 5 or 6 so far this season, teams further back in the race like AF#16 Insane Clowney Posse and Sacks Fifth Avenue could easily jump to the top in the final four weeks of regular season play.  The current totals by both Chinese Bandits and Suspension Freaks are already good enough for entries on the Legion’s all-time top 20, so we could be witnessing a record setting season by either team.  The season record for IDP sacks is 52.5, set by Public Enemy in their juggernaut 2015 campaign, and the next 4 weeks will tell if if either the Bandits or Freaks can cover that distance.
