Fantasy Addicts – monkeys on ecstacy (9-4-0 3968pts) slaughtered Black Sheep and On The Rox (10-3-0, 3848pts) held on to win against The Great Khalil in a match that stayed compatitive throughout.  The final tally in the pair of two-week matches were monkeys on ecstacy 631-512 over Black Sheep and On The Rox  –  in the victory over TGK.  The victors move on to the Fantasy Addicts Championship, in a title game that’s been 4 seasons in the making.

In the League’s first season, 2012, On The Rox dominated the Addicts’ league.  After losing in week 1, they went on to win 12 straight and secure the #1 seed, first round bye in a 6 team playoff.  The #5 seeded Balti-Maulers beat them 274-255 in the semifinals.  Not only were those 255 points a season low (outside of week 1) for Rox, but their previoous season low was actually 1 point more then the Mauler’s 274 points scored.  monkeys on ecstacy went on to win the championship that season, sailing in as the Cinderella #6 seed,  beating the Houston Hostiles, then Black Sheep, then the Balti-Maulers.

In 2013, monkeys on ecstacy won the regular season with a 10-3 record and the #2 highest points total, but Rox was right behind them at #3.  Both were eliminated in the playoffs by Black Sheep who had the highest points total of the league that season.

Last year, in 2014, monkeys went 12-2 and Rox went 9-5, going into the new 4 team playoff format with the #1 and #3 seeds, they appeared poised to finaly meet in the championship, but again it was not to be.  On The Rox lost to The U in the first round and monkeys fell to them the following week.

Now, at last, the league’s two biggest heavyweights will clash in an epic battle for the league title.  On The Rox is 38-19 all time and monkeys are 42-18 all time (including the post season), and, between the two of them, they hold more than half of all league records.  They have faced each other 8 times in league history and have each won 4 of those contests, with an even 2-2 split this season, having faced each other once in round robin and three times in ladder scheduling.  But they have never before met in the playoffs.  On The Rox, however has an 1-3 playoff record, just last week recording their first lifetime playoff win in the League, while monkeys’ is 5-2 in the post season with a League Title.

The rest of the League will be watching, expecting the battle to be nothing less than bloody and to the end.
