Final Week 17 AF Top 25: Public Enemy #1 Team of 2015 Season
AF TOP 25 – On the strength of their Week 17 win in Legion Bowl III, Public Enemy moves into first overall to be named the #1 team of the 2015 season across all Associated Fantasy leagues.
The Week 17 AF Top 25 – the final overall ranking of the 2015 season – has been calculated and released, with Legion of Defense Champion Public Enemy coming in at #1 with an .82o VsL%. The League 28 Champ, DashNSMASH, follows at #2, with a VsL % of .780 and tieing with them for second is Sock Bandits of the Fantasy Circus with an asterisk beside their VsL% from an elimination shortened season. The Dixie League‘s New Orleans Black Hats come in at #4 with a VsL % of .770 and rounding out the top 5 on the list is the Super 16 Champion Birds of Prey with their VsL % of .740
The champions of all 8 AF leagues made the list, appropriately so, but not all were near the top. Just missing the top 5, Fantasy Addicts Champ monkeys on ecstacy finished at 6th overall, and the winner of the IFFL Championship, the Venice Killerwhales placed at 12th. Propelled by their upset sweep of the Black Hats in the Dixie Championship Series, the Miami Pirates finish the year ranked 15th. The Fantasy Circus league winner, jagger, and the WFL World Bowl 4 Champion Los Angeles Dragons, finished in the bottom half of the list, finishing with rankings of 19 and 22, respectively.
The great thing about the AF Top 25 is that it compares teams against the competition within their own league, but then translates that performance to rank the teams against all other Associated Fantasy teams. The Top 25 is able to do this by comparing teams’ VsL%. The VsL% is a teams win percentage when wins are measured by what a teams W-L-T record would be if every team played every other team within the league weekly. The full 2015 Final Top 25 list is below; Associated Fantasy congratulates all coaches whose team has made the list; with 90 total teams competing, across 8 leagues, making it onto the list, or even to the top of it, is quite an accomplishment.

NOTE: Playoff teams’ VsL (shown in parentheses) calculated by attributing non-playoff teams with a score of 0. Playoff wins are given credit as VsL wins over playoff losses even if the score value is lower. Playoff BYEs are counted as a win with the VsL value equal to the team’s seeding (ie a #1 seeded playoff bye, counts as a win vs all other teams in the league; a #2 seeded BYE counts as a VsL win vs all teams except the #1 seed, etc). This means teams greatly improve upon their regular season rankings the deeper into the playoffs they go.
