Claymores Crush Crusaders

In the IFFL, the Scottish Claymores (5-6, 2,150.00 points) recorded the highest point total in the league this week to beat arch rival Cardiff Crusaders (7-4, 2,037.00 points) 198.00 to 144.00 in a back-and-forth struggle. Heading into Sunday, the Claymores were out in front 14.00 to 5.00. They gave up that lead after the late Sunday games and were behind 144.00 to 128.00. Thomas Rawls provided a jolt for Cardiff  during those games, with 61.00 points. The Bengals/Cardinals game on Sunday night came to an end with Scotland up by 46.00 and they stayed on top through the rest of the matchup.

There was one player on the Claymores that failed to capitalize on opportunites. Despite being targeted nine times, Dez Bryant could manage just four catches.

Since the Panthers Defense was the high scorer for Scottish Claymores, it means that a different player has now led the team in each of the last six weeks. With 53.00 points, Matthew Stafford paced the squad in Week 6, while T.J. Yeldon (38.00 points) was team-leader in Week 7 and Carson Palmer (49.00 points) led the way in Week 8. Adrian Peterson (34.00 points) was tops in Week 9 and Kirk Cousins (56.00 points) led in Week 10.

Although in last place, the Claymores are not yet mathematically eliminated from the playoffs for the Eastern Division. Venice has, however secured thier slot in the Division Championship game after their 196-112 thrashing of the Galaxy. In the West, Mexico City has secured their slot in the Division Championship, New Orleans, Perth, and Seattle are all still alive for the second slot.  Next week, the Scottish Claymores faces NGC Galaxy (6-5, 2,171.00), who puts up a league-leading 197.36 points per game, and Cardiff Crusaders squares off against Charlestons Franchise Playerz (3-8, 1,656.00), who sits in last place.
