Attack Dogs
WORLD LEAGUE – The Buenos Aires Blue Dogs went on the attack in the World League‘s Week 3 Premier World Match, putting an 82-42 beat-down on the New Orleans Acadians to emerge 3-0 and in sole control of the Western Conference. Led by team stars Antonio Brown and Kareem Hunt who scored 16 and 26 points, the Blue Dogs were helped along by the total meltdown of the Acadians who failed to get a single point from 3 different positions and only had one player – Frank Gore and his 11 points – break into double digits. Buenos Aires now extends their series lead on New Orleans to 5 wins out of 7 meetings, and have all the momentum going into next weeks game against the defending Champion Dacusville Devils.
The Devils posted their highest score of the season in Week 3, putting 112 points on the board. Unfortunately, their opponent, City of Champions, had a monster 140 point day to capture their first win of the season at the Champ’s expense. New Orleans, falling to 2-1 will get a chance to rebound in Week 4 when they take on AF Registered Coach Rox’s expansion Cali Rox, still searching for their first win after falling to the Mexico Aztecs, 0-96, this week, while Mexico, also 2-1, draws City of Champions who will be hoping for a repeat performance to climb out of 5th place.
In the Eastern Conference, Scandinavia is now 3-0 and the World League‘s only other undefeated franchise after a 115-65 demolishing of the league’s other expansion club, the Milan Wild Boars, who, like Cali, are winless at 0-3. Milan’s next test will be against the Jeruaslem Cheeseheads, who are fresh off a 90-59 drumming of the Old England Patriots. It was the first loss of the season for the Patriots who now sit at 2-1 along with their rival London Falling who handed Dublin Bay a 97-86 loss in Week 3. The teams will face each other in Week 4 in what’s shaping up to be a pretty exciting match. The loss to London, was the second loss in a row for Dublin, who must try to shake it off before facing the #1 Scandinavian Stars in Week 4.
