AFFL Week 8 Highlight Game
The winners of the two previous weekly Highlight Games in the AFFL are featured in Week 8 as they face off in an East-West showdown as the AF#14 Pittsburgh Maulers (5-2-0) and the AF#12 Henderson Gamblers (6-1-0) meet in a possible playoff preview. The Maulers dropped a close one, 155-164 last week against Siloam Springs (5-2-0) but maintain a 186 points per game average – 3rd in the league – while Henderson is in the midst of a 4 game winstreak after beating the Bulls (4-3-0) in Week 7’s Highlight Game, 189-154 and are ranked 2nd in the league with a 191 per game average. That leaves them at second and third in the league in total scoring and 1 and 2 in total offensive scoring on the season.
ESPN’s power rankings has Pittsburgh at #1 (47.77) and Henderson at #2 (47.19) while the AP poll flips them, putting Henderson on top and Pittsburgh ranked second, and the game has an incredible over/under of 401 points.

The Gamblers are now 7-1-0, #1 in the League and in the West Division, but San Quintin easily dispatched the Generals this week to stay right behind them at 6-2-0. The Maulers, now 5-3-0, fall a game back to Miami (6-2-0) in the East Division after the Stallions edged past a suddenly viable Federals franchise.
