dlcs-version-2-0The 2016 Dixie League Championship Series (DLCS) gets underway in Week 15 with the first game of the 3 game series.  The Eastern League Champion Sanford Celeryfeds (12-9-1 (2-0) are the favored club in the series, but the Western League Champion New Orleans Black Hats (13-6-3 (2-0), coached by AF Registered Coach, Coach Crash are on a hot streak.  The teams will go head-to-head in Weeks 15, 16, and 17 with two wins needed to capture the Dixie League Pennant.

In the 2 times these teams have met, the New Orleans squad has come out on top on each occasion, beating Sanford 13-4 in Week 7, and securing a monster, 21-13 victory in Week 9.  If the Black Hats can keep the trend alive, it will be the first time ever in Dixie Championships that a team coming out of the West has been crowned Champion.  Conversely, the trend Sanford will be looking to keep alive will be New Orleans’ runner-up status, as this will mark the third Dixie Championship match in a row for them (including 2013 while playing as the New Orleans Breakers) and they have lost on all previous tries.

#7 Los Angeles Dragons vs #14 Dacusville Devils click for Gamecenter

devil-dragonsThe Dacusville Devils (9-4-0(1-0)) and the Los Angeles Dragons (10-3-0) have vied for primacy all season and may be the two best teams in the league right now.  Run by AF Registered Coach Joey Drakor, the Dragons are the 2015 defending World League Champions and are the host city for this season’s title match.  In their only head to head match this year, though, Dacusville beat them by a 29 point margin in Week 2 but the Dragons have lost only 1 game since then and are currently on a record breaking 8 game win-streak.  The latest spread on the game has Devils established as a whopping 27 point underdog. The winner will meet the winner of the Eastern Championship Game on Christmas Day in World Bowl 5 in Los Angeles, California.

Legion of Defense Championship Tournament, Round 2

#9 Suspension Freaks vs #16 Mighty Pats (LoD) click for Gamecenter

#12 Sleeper Agent vs #12 Insane Clowney Posse click for Gamecenter

2016-championship-tournamentIn the Legion of Defense’s Championship Tournament, all 4 tournament teams are ranked inside of the top 16 right now, including two that are tied for 12th overall in the Association.  Suspension Freaks and the Mighty Pats are both 1-0 in the tournament after the first round, so the winner will go 2-0 and almost guarantee their place in the Legion Bowl, while Sleeper Agent and Insane Clowney Posse are both 0-1 in the tournament, so a loss will drop the losing team to 0-2 putting the Championship out of reach for them.  AF Registered Coach Mighty Pats will have a busy weekend, appearing in three playoff matches, including the two featured here (LoD, Fantasy Addicts), and also, his #3 ranked Mighty Pats will be taking on an unranked  opponent in the Fantsy Circuss.
