S16 logo 2015SUPER 16 – Honoring a preseason message board wager in the Super 16, the venerable Birds of Prey are now the Tweety Birds after falling to division rival the Who Dat Saints 219-231 in the Week 3 MNF SimalPlay Game of the Week.  It was a close match, all through the weekend and leading into the Monday night prime-time finale, with 5 lead changes on Sunday, then another 4 more on MNF before the Who Dats finally pulled ahead for the last time in the fourth quarter.  The win puts the Who Dats in control of the South Division and in 2nd overall in the league while dropping the Birds into the unfamiliar 3rd place territory of a 1-2 start.

The Tweeties weren’t the only name change to come out of Week 3, as the H-Town Foster Kids failed to capitalize on the Tweety’s loss, melting down in their 135-211 loss to the Indy-structibles and renaming themselves WTF Houston while they fall to 1-2.  BIGDOG, meanwhile, improved their record to 1-2, beating the BEARMINATORS 185-130.

Out west, the Super Chargers struggled, but ultimately pulled out a 127-108 win over the Jaw Breakers to advance to 3-0 and hold onto the overall #1 spot.  The Battle of the Bay went Oakland’s way in a very close, 217-201 contest, leaving the BowMen at 1-2 while 1 Eye Til I Die holds at 5th overall in the league with their 2-1 record.  The Firebirds couldn’t get the turnovers under control and fall to last place in the division after their 190-230 defeat at the hands of Motor City.

Despite their victory, Motor City still trails the Indy-structibles for the North Division – both teams at 2-1, but Indy with the Week 1 head-to-head win.  The Dawg Pound and BEARMINATORS are chasing each other to the bottom after both teams lose and finish the week at 3rd and 4th in division and 15th and 16th in the league.

The East Division has a new leader as the Northern ‘Fins are surging and The Eagle has landed destroyed the expansion Steel Curtain 199-114 in the opening edition of the Pennsylvania classic.   The Eagle will face a division match in Week 4 against the struggling Jaw Breakers while the 6th ranked ‘Fins will be tested in a  match with the 3rd ranked Indy-structibles.  Steel Curtain will try to recover from their Week 3 trouncing, but must do it against a Tweety Bird squad hoping to recover from theirs.

The Who Dat Saints will barely have time to catch their breath as they step into the spotlight again, with the Week 4 Game of the Week featuring the #1 ranked Los Angeles Super Chargers (3-0) and the #2 ranked Who Dat Saints (2-1) in another SimulPLay contest, with the early predictions giving the Chargers a 14 point advantage.
