IFFL Division Championships
IFFL – New Orleans lost miserably 123-264 to Mexico City in week 13, the highlight of which was a 21 point score by Jonathon Stewart. The Warriors performance – sixth highest of the season – includes player scores of 22, 24, 29, 31, 39, 42, and 47. The loss puts a cap on an ugly 5-8 VooDoo season, but because of a weak division, they find themselves in the unlikely spot of going into the playoffs for a rematch with the team that just put up more than twice as many points on them for the Division Title. The expansion Mexico City Warriors (9-4) have dominated the West all season and are also the league leader in total points.
In the Eastern Division Championship, the #1 seed Venice (9-4) doesn’t have quite the stranglehold on the competition that the Warriors have on the West. The Wonders of Greece (8-5) have been coming on strong late in the season, on a 3 game win-streak and having just passed Venice to become #2 on the total points list. The teams have played each other twice, both coming away with a win, but the Killerwhales are averging only 187 points per game over the last 3 games, while Greece is averaging 235 in that same span.
The IFFL playoffs consist of two, two-week rounds.
