Circus Heavyweights Collide

In AF’s Fantasy Circus, week 11 saw a match-up of the season’s top two teams as overall season leader jagger (10-0, 402.40 season record) looked to complete the season sweep of Round 2 leader Pigs Island Dawgs (3-0-0, 153.50 round 2 record).  jagger won the meeting in Week 4, 38.00 to 35.40, behind 9.00 points from Justin Tucker, but Pigs Island Dawgs, undefeated in Round 2, was projected to win the rematch by 10 points.

A primetime rally on Monday Night Football (5.40 points, 45% of their total score) wasn’t nearly enough for jagger, as Pigs Island Dawgs easily earned the 35.90 to 11.90 victory. The late efforts were ultimately a bit disappointing, as their original Monday night projection was 26.20 points. Pigs Island Dawgs was led by Cam Newton (246 Pas Yds, 5 TD). The Carolina QB passed for five touchdowns and provided 17.00 points in the beatdown. Pigs Island Dawgs played one starter with zero points while jagger also served up one goose egg, meaning both sides missed scoring opportunities. The 35.90 points represented the highest total in the league this week. Pigs Island Dawgs (4-0-0, 189.40 points) remains in first place, while jagger (3-1-0, 140.20 points) stays in second place in Round 2.

jagger had one important starter that left points out on the field. Even though Rob Gronkowski saw a total of seven targets, he only reeled in two catches.

While Antonio Brown led Pigs Island Dawgs weeks (with 21.00 points), Newton has now been the team’s leading scorer in two of the last three matches.

Pigs Island Dawgs takes on jolly joe (2-2-0, 137.70 Rnd 2) in Week 12, while jagger matches up with Cintoral Piercings (2-2-0, 123.30 Rnd 2).
