  • All arbitration of Tournament Rules to be arbitrated solely by Tournament Coordinator (TC)
  • Should any unforeseen event arise not covered explicitly in the rules, TC will exercise final judgment
  • Any TC decision not covered in the rules that involves TC’s team and must be ruled on by TC, will cause TC’s team to be removed from Championship eligibility

RB LogoII     Format

  • 8 Teams; Total Points Competition
  • Roster Barons is an “Open” Entry Tournament
    • All slots filled on a first apply – first entry basis
  • Teams may enter in back to back seasons, but must re-enter each year

III     Entry/Payout

  • Entry Fee for the Tournament will be $25.00(US)
  • Entry Fee is payable at time of registration, deadline extended solely at discretion of TC

IV     Rosters

  • Roster settings used will be AF Formations roster settings:
    • 1 QB, 2 RB/WR FLEX, 2 WR/TE FLEX, 1 RB/WR/TE FLEX, 1 K
  • Team Defense: 1
  • Bench: 0

V     Scoring

  • The Roster Barons Tournament is a total points tournament, combining points earned in two categories (Fantasy Points and Roster Points) to produce teams’ Tournament Points Total

Fantasy Points

  • Fantasy Points in the tournament will be earned through the following scoring settings:
  • Offense: AF Standard offensive scoring settings
  • Team Defense: AF Standard defensive scoring settings

Roster Points

  • Roster Points are a series of bonus points teams can earn through the tournament, they are added to teams’ Fantasy Points Total to produce a Tournament Points Total which will ultimately determine the Tournament Champion
  • Roster Points remain seperate from weekly scores and do not affect those scores, only the Tournament Points Total
  • Roster Points from any or all of the below categories may be earned simultaneously
  • Roster Points for Head-to-Head wins:
    • Teams will receive a Roster Point bonus for head-to-head wins equal to the value of 10 x N consecutive wins
      • EXAMPLES:  1 single head-to-head win = 10 Roster Points; 2nd consecutive head-to-head win = 2o Roster Points; 3rd consecutive win = 30 Roster Points; and so on
      • A head-to-head loss will cause the the value of the next head-to-head win to return to 10 Roster Points
      • consecutive wins carry over from one Round to the next
      • See Section VII “Schedule/Regular Season” for more information
  • Roster Points For Trading:
    • Both teams engaged in any trade will receive a Roster Point bonus of 25 points added to their Tournament Points Total (will not effect weekly match-up points) for the trade transaction
    • Additionally, in every instance of a trade, the player posting the highest score of the two players traded in the week immediately following the trade, will accrue a Roster Point bonus of 25 points added to the Tournament Points Total of the team that acquired that player
    • See Section IX “Trading” for more information
  • Roster Points for Best Individual Performance:
    • Every week, the team that starts the highest fantasy scoring player of all players acquired by all teams in that same week will receive a Roster Points Bonus of 40 points
    • Player must have been acquired in the week immediately prior to the high scoring performance
    • Player may have been acquired through either Free Agency or through Trade to be elligible (Week 1 performance by players acquired in the draft is also eligible)

VI     The Draft

  • Tournament Draft will be an email draft conducted by TC and will be held once tournament is full and all entry fees have been paid
  • Draft order will be randomized prior to draft by FFToolbox.com
  • All teams will be cc’ed an email from FFToolbox.com notifying them of the event and of the randomized order, as well as the link to verify the draft order
  • Once randomized, draft order will remain as is. In the event that a team withdraws from the tournament, after the draft order has been randomized but before the draft, the team that replaces them will assume the withdrawn team’s draft slot
  • Draft will be only 2 rounds in length, serpentine style
  • Teams must select 1 player to fill an RB/WR/TE FLEX roster position and 1 Team DEF and these two draft selections may be made in either order
  • All other roster positions will be filled by teams through Free Agency during the season

VII     Schedule/Regular Season

  • The Roster Barons Tournament is a total points competition, W-L-T record is meaningless
  • The match-up schedule will be set up as a double-round robin in which each team in the tournament will be placed head-to-head with every other team in the tournament once in Weeks 1-7 (Round 1), and again in Weeks 8-14 (Round 2)
    • See Section VII “Free Agency/Rounds” for more information
  • Although the W-L-T record is meaningless for standings purposes, head-to-head wins will benefit a team through the addition of Roster Points (see Section XX Scoring; sub-section Roster Points) added to their Tournament Points Total
  • Roster Points – even when acrued in the week of the match-up – are not included in teams’ head-to-head match-up scores, and so do not contribute to the bonus being given for a win or consecutive wins

VIII     Free Agency/Rounds

  • Round 1 (Weeks 1-7)
    • Free Agency settings will be “Revolving Waivers, never reset, move to last after successful claim”
    • Waiver Period will be 2 days
    • Initial Waiver Priority order in Week 1 will be inverse of tournament draft order, and then will flip each week, so that odd numbered weeks waiver order is inverse of draft order, and in even numbered weeks waiver order is draft order
    • Teams will only be permitted 1 Add per week
  • Franchise Tag (Week 8)
    • At the conclusion of Week 7 – immediately following the MNF game and no later than 9:00am EDT the following morning – teams must designate one of their players with a ‘Franchise Tag’ by message board post
    • Players designated with a Franchise Tag will remain on their team’s rosters, and all other rostered players will be released into the Free Agent pool
    • Teams may make this designation earlier than the MNF game’s conclusion if they desire
    • If a team fails to designate one of their players with the franchise tag, the player on their roster with the highest season points total at the conclusion of Week 7 will be designated as such
  • Round 2 (Weeks 8-14)
    • At the start of Week 8, concurrent with all non-Franchise Tagged players being released into Free Agency, Waiver Settings will be switched to a “Waiver Auction Budget”
    • Concurrent with the switch to a WAB, Waiver Period will be switched to 4 days
    • The Budget set for each individual team will be equal to the to-date Tournament Points Total they have acrued at the end of Week 7
    • Concurrent with the switch to a WAB, add/drop transactions will be locked for Week 8
    • At the conclusion of Week 8, add/drop transactions will be unlocked and settings will be changed to allow for a maximum of 2 Adds per week through to the conclusion of Week 14
  • Round 3 (Weeks 15-17)
    • Immediately following the conclusion of Week 14 (MNF), and after the distribution of the Week 14 Roster Points (see Section 5 “Scoring; sub-section “Roster Points”) the teams advancing to Round 3 will be determined, and those teams not advancing will have their rosters locked (see Section 10 “Playoffs/Round 3”)
    • Free Agency will then be switched to “Open Free Agency, Players Do Not Lock At Game Time” for the advancing teams for the remainder of the Tournament
      • NOTE: Free Agent players may be added after the start of their NFL game, however players on a tournament team’s roster may not be dropped after game’s start time
    • The Per Week Limit on adds will be removed for the remainder of the Tournament

IX      Trading

  • Trading within the Tournament is highly encouraged and is a part of the basis of the Tournament structure
  • Trades are limited to the trading of a single player in exchange for a single player
  • Trades receive TC review, only to verify that they follow the 1 for 1 rule; all trades adhering to the 1 for 1 rule will be processed
  • Trades have no maximum number allowed, do not count against weekly Add/Drop limits, and there is no Trade Deadline
  • Both teams engaged in any trade will receive a Roster Point bonus of 25 points added to their Tournament Points Total (will not effect weekly match-up points)
  • Additionally, in every instance of a trade, the player posting the highest score of the two players traded in the week immediately following the trade, will accrue a Roster Point bonus of 25 points added to the Tournament Points Total of the team that acquired that player

X     Playoffs/Round 3

  • In lieu of a traditional playoff format, the Roster Barons Tournament will consist of 3 Rounds
  • Round 1 and Round 2 will be the ‘Regular Season’ (see Section VII “Schedule/Regular Season” and Section VIII “Free Agency/Rounds” for more information)
  • Round 3 will be used in lieu of a playoff bracket
  • At the conclusion of Week 14, the bottom 4 teams by Tournament Points Total (Total Fantasy Points + Total Roster Points) will be eliminated from competition and their rosters will be locked as is
  • The top 4 teams (by Tournament Points Total) will advance to Round 3 and be matched-up to face each other in a round robin in Weeks 15-17
    • These head-to-head match-ups are for generating Roster Points only, as the Tournament Champion is determined by total points
  • Free Agency will be switched to No Waivers (see Section VIII “Free Agency/Rounds”; sub-section “Round 3” for more information) throughout Round 3
  • Roster points will continue to be earned in all categories (see Section V “Scoring”; sub-section “Roster Points” for more information) throughout Round 3
  • At the conclusion of Week 17, the team with the highest Tournament Points Total will be the Tournament Champion

XI     Tiebreakers

  • Head-to-head match-ups may end in ties, in which case no Head-To-Head Roster Point Bonus is awarded, therefore there is no tiebreaker for head-to-head match-ups
  • W-L-T records are meaningless because the Tournament Champion is determined by Tournament Points Total, therefore there are no standings ties or tiebreakers
  • Should the final Tournament Points Total end in a tie to the second decimal point between two or more teams, the prize money will be split evenly between those tied teams, therefore there is no tiebreaker for Tournament Points Total

XII     Special Rule

  • Participation in tournament is limited to one entry per household/IP address
  • After all tournament slots are filled but before draft order has been established, NFL.com will be contacted to verify that all participants registered with tournament are originating from different IP addresses to verify that no participant is registered with multiple teams
  • Multiple teams originating from the same IP address will result in immediate expulsion of all teams involved
  • It is recommended, that before the draft, each individual team verify for themselves that all teams are from different IP addresses; this can be done through the contact NFL tool (found in the FAQs), simply send an email, include league id number, and ask NFL to verify that no teams in the league originate from the same IP address
