Monkeys Start Season Atop Ladder

FANTASY ADDICTS – Entering their 7th season – dubbed The 7 Year Itch – the Fantasy Addicts League is shaking things up for the 2018 season by using a full ladder schedule for the regular season.  Ordinarily, the Addicts regular season consists of a single round robin in weeks 1-9, followed by ladder scheduling in weeka 10-13 in which match-ups are based on league standings with the #1 playing the #2, #3 playing the #4, and so on.  But for 2018, the league will be using that ladder scheduling format straight through the entire regular season.  Week 1 match-ups pitted teams against each other based on their draft position, and that left 2 time League Champion monkeys on ecstasy playing another past champion, Black Sheep.

Despite drafting from the 10 spot, monkeys outperformed the field in the season opener, racking up 405 points in their steamrolling of the Sheep, 405-306.  It was just the 6th time in league history that a team has joined the “4oo Club” and marks the 4th highest single game performance ever.  The first, second, and third highest entries in the record books belong to the monkeys as well.

In other opening weekend action, the defending 2017 Champs, Kizzy’s Krackbacks lost their first game of 2018, 249-262 to The Great Khalil and wind up all the way down in second to last place where they’ll face 99 Bortles of Beer in Week 2 after the drunken jaguars lost their opening game as well.  Houston Hostiles took care of business with a 312-291 win over On The Rox to move into second place, where they’ll have a shot at the monkeys in Week 2.  Suspension Freaks XL and league super villain Orange Lantern Corps each won their openers and will face each other in Week 2 as the #3 and #4 teams;  TGK will face the Sheep, and Rox will take on Mighty Pats.
