S16 logo 2015SUPER 16 – The Northern Fins have now won 6 in a row after defeating the #1 Who Dat Saints (8-3-0) 195-164 in the Super 16 Game of the Week.  The victory drops the Saints down to #2, and makes the Northern Fins the new League #1 team.  They must face division rival Eagle has landed in a Week 12 rematch, and can clinch the East Division Championship with a win.

The Who Dats’ loss prolongs the battle for the South Division.  After BIGDOG beat the once mighty Tweety Birds, 190-162, they still have a shot at the division.  BIGDOGINTEX must win twice, have the Saints lose twice, and out score them by 3 or more points over the next 2 weeks; The Saints can clinch the playoffs with a win in either Week 12 or 13.
In the West, 1 Eye managed to keep themselves in the chase after an impressive destruction of Houston 232-150 in a Mexican MNF SimulPlay match.  The Super Chargers lost a close one to the Firebirds, but can still clinch the West Division Championship with a win in either Week 12 or 13;  1 Eye Til I Die needs to win twice, and hope the Chargers lose both of theirs.
The brown and blue North Division, is coming down to the final weeks, as usual.  The Dawg Pound (7-4-0) is still in first (and ranked #3 overall) thanks to a significant points advantage, but Motor City Kitty is 7-4-0 also, and the BEARMINATORS are still within striking distance at 6-5-0.  The Dawg Pound faces the BEARMINATORS this weekend and will close the season vs Motor City;  the Division cannot be mathematically decided before that match-up concludes.
In the hunt for the Wild Card spots right now are Motor City, Eagle, BIGDOG, and BEARS.  The number one seed can still be clinched by either Miami, New Orleans, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Detroit, or Philadelphia.
In lieu of a Game of the Week this week, the S-16 celebrates the second annual Thanksgiving Classic, featuring a pair of Thanksgiving Day SimulPlay match-ups as the Indy-structibles take on the Motor City Kitties and BIGDOGINTEX faces Steel Curtain; both of these games have playoff implications.  Other big games to enjoy this holiday weekend include:
– a SimulPlay between Houston and Los Angeles in which the Chargers have a shot to clinch the West
– the Eagle vs Fins rematch that may decide the East Division
– A SimulPLay game between the Tweety Birds of Prey and the Doused Firebirds is meaningless in the standings, but should be good
– The fourth installment of the Battle of the Bay as 1 Eye meets BowMen (1 Eye leads series 2-1)
