Birds Electric

falconsaltlogoBirds of Prey extend their regular season win streak to 15 straight after discharging the LA Super Chargers 269-176 in the Game of the Week.  With that win, they clinch the South Division championship and with it a playoff berth.  Karma and a Kicker, might be the only division rival with a shot at a wild card, as they move to 3-5 with their win over BIGDOG (1-7) and H-Town (1-7) finally gives the BEARMINATORS (1-7) their first win.

In the East, the Ice Cold Bruschis are quietly still the best team in the league, 8-0 after a convincing 254-192 SimulPlay win over division rival Northern Fins, the Bruschis have outscored the Birds by about 75 points on the season.  They’ll face the rival Fins again this week and can clinch the Division Championship with a win.
In the middling North Division, the BEARMINATORS were the only team to post a W, getting their first win of the season in their 196-169 dismantling of H-Town.  at 1-7, the BEARMINATORS are only 3 games back from the Division lead currently held by Motor City Kitties 4-4.
The Super Chargers didn’t have enough juice for the Birds of Prey in the Game of the Week, but the rest of the West Division did, Arizona, SF BowMen, and 1 Eye all posting wins.  Arizona continues to lead the Division, ranked #3 overall, with the other 3 teams being the early favorites for the two wild card spots.
Week 9 marks the start of the playoff push.  Birds of Prey have clinched.  Ice Cold Bruschis can clinch this week with a win.  5 weeks to go, some teams will have to run the tables the next 5 weeks to get in.  Week 9 Game of the Week candidates:
Northern Fins vs Ice Cold Bruschis – the rematch, Bruschis won their first match-up last week, can the ‘Fins bounce back, break the Bruschis win streak and prevent them from taking the Division?
SF’s BowMen vs 1 Eye Til I Die – Battle of the Bay II – BowMen won the first game, this becomes a must win for 1 Eye to keep abreast of BowMen in the standings
